PROFESSIONAL AI OVERSIGHT ACT

Creates the Professional AI Oversight Act in Illinois, requiring licensed professionals to clearly disclose to paying clients when they are interacting with artificial intelligence, both verbally at the start of an exchange and in writing beforehand. Sets civil penalties of up to $2,500 per violation enforced by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, and makes undisclosed AI use in trade or commerce an unlawful practice under the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.
